Hissing is definitely brake booster failing? Posted by crawdad [Email] (#1867) [Profile/Gallery] (more from crawdad) on Mon, 26 Dec 2016 09:36:07 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |

After turning off the engine, there's hissing for about 10 seconds from the booster area in the engine bay. No hissing can be heard inside the cabin. I can't say for sure that it's from the booster itself although I don't know what else it could be. Before starting, with a little pumping, the pedal firms up but not as hard as my 900 - and will sink a bit when first started as it should. Pedal is 4" from the floor but when braking sinks to less than 1" from the floor. Pumping brakes does not affect rpm. Master cylinder is new, bench-bled, entire system was bled. There is a pcv problem if it makes any difference. Thank you!
