I have a 3 yr old stage 1 for a 2005 ARC, my experience
Pros - more HP/torque, enhanced SID (optional), over boost available - i liked to watch it go into red in 3rd gear. Flawless performance, no CEL's. Used upgraded plugs.
Cons - as a result of Pros, every seep, sweat and leak will double in magnitude. Some of my oil went AWOL.
Ontario emission test would not complete due to missing parameter so I had to pop the original ECU with original program back in to get it to complete and the vehicle to pass. Never put it back. eE was blah, blah, mehhhhh about it. Oil consumption returned to old minimal pattern upon replacement. The Stage 1 ECU hangs like the Sword of Damocles above my toolbox waiting for my next bout of impetuousness.......
