I think there are 3 flavors involved..
1) One has a head unit without cassette tape, and just uses 4 speakers I believe. and no external amp.
2) the second is a 7 speaker setup.. and the head unit has tape option, and its fed by a Pioneer 7 channel amp..
3)3rd option has same head unit, but uses 9 speakers, fed by a Harmon Kardon amp... (and rear deck speakers have harmon kardon logos on the grilles)
If you suspect the amp... checkout goldwingsaab site.. they carry used stuff, really cheap.. but I would doublecheck the fuses again. maybe swap them out to be sure. there should be 2 fuses inside the door /dash area.. one is for the radio/headunit.. the other for the external amp (20amp fuse)..
Good Luck
Mike
