When I removed mine (2003) there was no screw.
Put both front seats forward to give you some room.
Pull back gently but firmly on the sides of the bottom panel of the rear of the console. The panel with the vents at the top fits like a cap over the back surface of the console.
As you pull back, the vent at the top will be acting like a bit of a hinge, but eventually you will be able to lift the whole panel away.
Depending on how your car is equipped, you should have electrical connections to the rear heater switch button as well as the power outlet.
The panel essentially snaps back into place once you get the vents lined up with the underlying duct work.
