Smoke under hood, oil seeping from top o2 sensor?!?

Okay, this is new to me. I got to work this morning and saw wisps of smoke from under hood, opened hood, could not localize it. Drove home (fortunately only a few miles away) and looked under the hood...
Oil had seemingly seeped out of the o2 sensor and was burning (also a tiny bit between the turbo and cat flanges). Car seemed to drive fine, there was a little hesitation on startup. I haven't had a chance to look at it tonight. This is a remanufactured TD-04 I swapped in after the Garrett died (the GT-17 disintegrated shortly after I purchased it). It's lasted maybe 10k miles in 5 years (I don't drive much).
What am I in for? Obviously, it's the turbo, but leaking from the o2 sensor?!? There's nothing nearby that could be spraying onto it, I've checked.
I've got sour on the car and am not spending a week shoehorning another $$$ turbo in for that one to just fail. Can I delete the turbo? I mean to yank it, bypass the oil and coolant lines, gut its creamy center, bung up the various holes that would be left in it, and reconnect it back up to the intake/exhaust sides as it normally would? (I can do the lines, but I can't fab a new header->cat connection, I'd just use the compressor housing for that.
Taking suggestions!
