press clutch hard to start - which switch to replace? - Saabnet.com Bulletin Board
I have written about the intermittent start issue with my 03 Saab 9-5 manual.
- you turn to start and nothing happens
- push harder on clutch and sometimes it starts
- it goes through phases, where some days it starts
each time, but other times it takes 3 turns of the key
- when it fails to start, the start is not engaged and there are no sounds but the lights are on etc so the electrical works (lights etc, check "ok")
In any event there are two products out there
- clutch starter safety switch
- clutch pedal position switch
Which is the one I should try to replace?? (see attached image). Note: I already took it in for alignment of clutch but that didnt work.
