Soft pedal after front brake job

Did the front brakes on the 2000 9-5 wagon at 32K. Car stops well, but pedal has more travel than I'd like before the stopping force begins. Thought it might be the fact I didn't turn the rotors & it'll just take 100 miles or so to bed the pads to the disk. Any other thoughts?
Repair notes:
o-Used Saturn L series pads (long story) & the instructions in the Saturn kit. Pads were ATE/GM & an exact physical fit.
o-My first job on a Saab (have done many on Volos), went pretty well.
o-Rotors were lightly & smoothly scored, 1/2 mm ridge at top. Miked out at 0.905 on one side, 0.915 on the other. ~23mm
