Just a brain dump....personal opinion since I have no experience with this issue or the behavioural aspects of a Linear.
Being a Linear, did it go substantially into the yellow before? It should not be going into the red at all unless you have a tune. The LPT is not a powerhouse. Maybe the car is now driving as it should!!!!
Maybe the valve is defective? Everything tight?
If it's a manual, rumour has it that first and second gears are lame by Saab design due to a desire to keep wheelspin and emissions under control.
What type of fuel are you using? Regular fuel is lame in these vehicles so you might try a non-ethanol high-test fuel.
You might try unplugging the battery for a while so the ECU can now relearn how you drive with the new valve?
