First a little history on my AC. Several years ago I would start my car and the AC would work but if you stopped and started again the compressor would not come on. I lived with this for about 2yrs and finally took it to a mechanic and he couldn't figure it out, also discovered that the cooling fan was not always coming on too. In desperation he installed a direct switch I could flip to turn on the AC manually which worked great. After a year like that I was having trouble with the cooling fans and I finally got a friend that used to be a saab mechanic come by the house and we tried several things trying to get the cooling fans to work right and hooked up his tech 4 unit to the car and told it what kind of car it was and just went thru everything and when he was done the AC and fans have worked perfectly up till now.
Today I had a problem with my brakes so I replaced the rigid vacuum line with the check valve that connects to the booster. The instructions I found said to remove the battery and unhook the hood sensor switch for the anti theft and then remove the small max fuse box from the large fuse box and also move the large fuse box out of the way so you can access the vac connections better. I didn't want to unhook the battery for fear of loosing the programming thats keeping my AC working so I decided not to take all that apart except I had takin the cover off the max fuse box and I did remove the wiring to the hood sensor. That's all I did and was able to get the vac lines connected. Here's the problem, when I started the car I noticed the AC was not working so I got out and checked and noticed the cooling fans did not come on. I've checked all the relays and fuses that connected to the fans and all good.
Does anybody have any ideas on what I did and how to fix this?
