Does it have the SEM label on the bottom side? Standard Motor Products could conceivable buy ignition units from SEM, but if your unit does not have the SEM label then SMP bought it from someone else. Years ago I bought an off-brand Ignition Module from CarQuest which was the real SEM device, so they are out there.
At only $181 for an NGK brand SEM made unit, why run the risk of ruining a much more expensive catalytic converter by using an off-brand module?
