Hot Air From Front Vents Posted by Joe [Email] (#444) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Joe) on Wed, 2 Oct 2019 19:44:34 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I've searched and searched and gone through the WIS. My 2003 2.3 has warm air coming out of the vents, even when the ACC is set to LO and Econ (to keep the compressor off). This is after driving around on fairly cool evening (60's). There are no ACC codes. With the AC on it does cool but it's not great, seems like it's probably trying to cool already hot air.
Reading the WIS, it seems to imply the heater control valve only comes into play when the AC is set to LO with the compressor on, and the blend doors should be removing the heater core from the air flow completely. So, where is the warm air coming from if the diagnostic on the ACC doesn't return any codes? If the heater valve on the firewall has failed open, would this cause it?
Kind of at my wits end. Thanks for any input. PS A lot of the searches returned "hot air from rear vents" but that's not the issue, it's the main front vents.
