Challenge is now finding a big enough light enough trailer..... There is a Detroit C-L ad for a fully enclosed trailer, only $800. I contacted the seller with make, length, weight, and brake questions. It is a 2018 CargoMate 14 foot trailer with rear ramp door and electric brakes. Unfortunately, per the manufacturer's website the empty trailer weighs 2,000 lbs!
So now my limiting factor is the fact no manufacturer makes a Class-II hitch for fitting to my Class-II rated tow vehicle. Or I will need to find a fully enclosed Aluminum trailer at a price that I can tolerate.
Curt Hitches has no listing in their catalog for any Class-II hitch for the 9-5, regardless of year. Interestingly though they list the same P/N's for their 9-5 fitting Class-I hitches regardless of model year. From 1999 through 2009.
Meanwhile Draw-tite Hitches has no listing for a Class-I hitch to fit the 9-5 model regardless of model year. Their Class-II hitch shows fitment for 2005 and older only. So...their competitor's Class-I hitch fits regardless of model year, but they stop listing their Class-II hitch after 2005. Is there a difference or were anticipated sales too low? Or did they manufacture the SAAB branded OEM hitch and SAAB elected not to renew the contract?
Reese Hitches references the above Draw-tite product by name and model number for the 9-5, for the same year limits.
Time to slither under the car and look for mounting holes, particularly the tow hook mounting method.
