2004 9-5 Aero Wagon, Automatic. Did not start for my wife today after running some errands in the rain. Turn the key and the dash lights come on and the fuel pump runs but no crank or even a click. I drove over to the car with my key and it started right up! We drove home in two cars. No symptoms from the 9-5.
I put a code reader on the 9-5: nothing. I tried wife's key after seeing mine work. Hers works now too. I cleaned off the battery terminals. The car has 210,000 miles on it and runs great. The following has been replaced: CPS - 102,665 (Oct '11), Battery (most recent) - 187,933 (Apr '18), Positive Battery Cable - 143,933 (Sept '14), Starter - 164,518 (May '16), Battery in Wife's key - 104,737 (Dec '11), ABS Computer - 190,654 (June '18).
Voltage drops to around 11.2 VDC when cranking. Resting is 12.2 VDC. When running with alternator it's about 13.5 VDC.
Any suggestions? I'm thinking it could be the CPS on the way out. The current one has 108,000 miles on it and it's 9 years old.
