Neighbor was moving and sold me a set of ramps for $10. Three projects came to mind
My 2003 Saab 9-5, Arc V6 290K (1) Oil,filter, air filter change and (2) tranny drain and fill.
(3) sons 2016 Jetta oil and filter. 70K. I do plan to give my loyal mechanic the privilege of the 300k service. He’s earned it!
I did my car in two steps. Not having a 24mm wrench or flat enough socket to crack the tranny I did the tranny with my vacuum pump last weekend. On Friday afternoon, I did the oil and filters change. Original GM filter, M1 high mileage 5W30, Mobil 3309 Dino for the tranny. Mann air filter
Today my son came by, drove right up on the ramps and we did his change. Original VW filter, Castrol full synthetic 5w40.
It was fun and I was happy to share some skills with my son. (My dad owned a shop and I grew up changing oil, although could stand erect under a lift).
For the record my dad was hanging out in the driveway. He kept the beer cold and smiled approvingly. That was good too!
