Although this thread is dated, I have had the same thing happen twice on my 05 Aero Wagon automatic, 165K. It's as if the whole car shorts out when I turn the key. No lights, no power--NOTHING! Have found that I need to wait for 20 minutes or so and by clicking the key fob unlock button power returns, and then I gingerly turn the key. I notice that the clock has gone back to midnight, all things reset. It's as if I had the battery out of the car
My mechanic is wondering is this is an ECU brain fart, but this post sounds exactly like my symptoms. The battery--an Interstate (what do you know!)--is less than 6 months old. The battery cable was replaced by the former owner with an aftermarket one, so maybe this is pointing to the issue.
This is a wonderful car--but this issue is giving me gray hair!
HELP!
