Hey Charles, I just did this TODAY, in that I had been getting a P0455 which is "large Vac leak" and at first I had a 0442, briefly, like yours.
I had recently changed the fuel pump a couple of weeks ago but the 0442 code seemed to go away quickly while the 0455 stayed.
The thing is though that I had related the 0445 to a small stumble at idle and a big stumble that had begun at startup couple of days ago. Seemed particularly worse in the hot weather.
I had tested and cleaned the purge valve (as that 0455 code indicates) but to no avail.
Today I spotted a nick in the hose into the rear of the throttle body from the purge valve. It is not the hose for the purge valve itself but a short female hose extension that allows the purge valve male connector to join.
Anyway, no more CEL and the car has not stumbled or had a difficulty today since I put a new piece of hose there with some better clips - BLISS! (Touch wood)
I write this because, after searching high and low along vac lines, that hose piece had looked fine and felt strong to touch so I had assumed it was ok. I even asked a mechanic about it because I had been doubtful about it when I changed the throttle body back in April. He said it looked fine. It was bugging me a little but I did not put 2 and 2 together.
But I think it has turned out to be the "large leak"/0455 - "small leak"/0442.
Check it out on your car at the back of the throttle body and goes left around the firewall to the Purge Valve. The problem was right at the back of the TB.
Hope this helps. I was tearing my hair out.
Note though that the end piece (male) of the hose from the Purge Valve is a plastic piece that is very different from the TB outlet (male too) so you need to take that into account as you tighten the clamp. Dont want to break that expensive little sucker.
