ACC fan sounds like a jet engine! Posted by Snowmobile [Email] (#686) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Snowmobile) on Thu, 16 Sep 2021 03:40:28 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Sometimes "born from jets" is not desirable.
ACC with fan running on speeds 4 and above (maybe even 3) is very loud and deep sounding (increasingly so with fan speed). I ran the ACC Auto/off self test and there are no faults.
However, I recently had the power steering hose replaced from the rack to the pump. I noticed this (I think) the first time the ACC fan whirled up after that (second time starting the car, but first time in the heat, as it was overcast and cool in the morning when I first started the car after the work). So I am wondering if there is something that may have been dislodged or misconnected in the process of doing that hose that would cause this sound. That work involves dropping the back end of the subframe...
So far, my strategy is to keep the fan on low, but I should fix this.
Any thoughts?
