This looks a lot like the airbag removal in the NG 9-3. I have switched steering wheels in older 9-5s and it’s a five minute job with two screws on opposite sides of the wheel. The NG 9-3 is another story altogether, and a real bear. I ended up using two Allen wrenches to hold the springs back and a dental mirror to see what I was doing along with a flashlight to get some light in those little holes.. The difficult part seems to be that.the airbag is wedged in so it takes some muscle to remove it and then it wants to fly out when it breaks loose and strain the wires. On older 9-5s the airbag literally falls out after you loosen the two captive screws but this must be the new, improved version. My advice is to give up for a while if you get worn out and try it again when you are fresh.
