I had something similar several years back on my 2007 9-5 and once I replaced the battery it always started with more gusto. All the time the battery checked out normally and even a full charge didn’t change things. I have noticed my 2009 and 2007 don’t seem to crank with the same enthusiasm as my 2000 and 2001, but that may be due to a different starter motor. They always start even when the battery charge is around 30 percent. Don’t overlook the battery posts and terminals as they can be oxidized even though they look clean. There is also the common issue with 9-5s where the positive cable develops corrosion underneath the insulation reducing its capacity. A resistance check over the length of the cable can help diagnose that. Good luck and we’ll be interested to hear the outcome.
