Did notice when placing one xenon bulb into socket that getting it to seat properly, so the rear spring could be easily snapped into place wasn't always simple. Even stopped and took a break before finally finishing, and when, did found by slightly twisting/moving light base was able to get it seated better, so that retaining clip spring more easily snapped into its lock-catch.
Initially replace driver's side bulb and found it still raised too high but didn't have the spotlight look as old one; so some improvement. All bulbs were Philips std replacement bulbs.
Coincidentally had recently noticed a bit of flickering from passenger side (plus one short shut down - however quickly back on). So installed old driver's side bulb (center element didn't look as aged) into passenger headlight. It cured the flickering and shut off. This was one which had most difficulty with rear retainer clip.
