Several reasons I went to LA instead of buying from Las Vegas.
1) No more 2002 in Vegas - the rebates were too good to pass up. If you want an 03 they are just arriving here in Las Vegas. Not a huge selection, but you get Sentronic Transmission on auto, darker wood dash (at least on arc), and homelink. If these are important go with the 03.
2) Biggest reason I went to LA - They treated me like crap here in Las Vegas! The salesperson (joe) was very nice, but when it came time to make the deal, the new car manager (Victor) was awful. He oozes Stereotypical finance manager. Tried to push the deal down my throat. I was debating between lease/buy, and when I asked about the money factor and residual on an 03 arc, he responded, "Why? Are you a mathematician?". No, I simply wanted to know what I was paying for a $40,000 MSRP auto. The dealership was fine, and you may have a better experience, but I felt like I was buying a cheap Oldsmobile and not a SAAB.
The cars are unbelievable, and the buying experience I had (Bought my 02 aero over the phone) with Martha at Saab of Santa Ana was VERY professional, simple, and even relaxing. Give it try. It only takes a phone call, and the drive to LA is not bad. Good Luck!!
