While I don't have any direct experience with a SAAB key fob yet, I do see other fobs, remotes and cell phones that have met any number of liquid disasters.
Corrosion is your biggest enemy.
1. Get the batteries out immediately and throw them away, get new ones.
2. Use a no-residue (tuner cleaner is a no-no) contact cleaner and clean the circuit board with a brush (old toothbrush is good) thoroughly but not too aggressively.
3. Rinse with pure de-ionized water
4. Let it dry thoroughly and naturally. Put it on a windowsill that gets sun for a few hours a day. NO ovens!
5. After reassembly, if it works OK check the battery contacts after 2-3 months to make sure they are not corroding. Use a pencil eraser or a sharp knife edge to clean up if they are dull.
This procedure has rescued many items over the years.
