Mike,
I could talk for hours on my experience with synthetics. In my early days, I built well over 200 VW air cooled motors. That includes my own. Every winter I would redo my VW motor after a summer of abuse. I know where every part of that motor wears under stress such as skuff patterns on pistons, thrust bearing and rod bushings. Ya the VW air cooled 1600cc has free floating wrist pins!
Well...The first year I used Amsoil Synthetic in my motor and went back into it a year later, I almost fell over. Maricle in a can! I would tell other mechanics or people about it and Id get the "BS" look or bout.
I mention the synthetic issue only ONCE to customers :-)
