If you check the threads about the aftermarket Forge & Hyperboost BPVs (bypass valves), some have reported that they do 2 things that I would think would help when shifting with a MT:
- Almost complete elimination of Turbo-Lag
- Engine Revs drop between shifts
I am waiting for some spare cash to get the Hyperboost and also E-Code headlight lenses from Danial Stern.
I have a '01 Aero Wagon w/ MT and have adjusted my shifting style to be less aggressive when accelerating in 1st & 2nd. It is too easy to run up to the red line and hit the rev limiter. So I mostly drive like a responsible adult in 1st & 2nd. I sometimes have trouble continuing to behave after than!
