9-5 ECU Recall Posted by BradW [Email] (#3273) [Profile/Gallery] (more from BradW) on Sun, 22 Oct 2000 22:08:22 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have two questions about the recall:
1) Forgive me as I have picked up 99.5% of my Saab knowledge on this board, but I am still a bit confused about how this part fits into the whole engine management scheme. I've heard mention about the 'learning(adapting?)' characteristics of the Trionic. With the part that is being replaced, will this process need to start over? Should I plan on taking the car on a nice long drive when I pick it up, and how should I drive it to maximize performance?
2) I read somewhere that the replaced computer is from the 2001 model line. Does this mean that I will be getting 15 free horsepower with the new box? Sounds a bit too good to be true to me, but is it at least a possiblilty?
Thanks!
