I'm on a crusade.
I've owned way too many of these cars, and they all lose the paint on the badges. surely, with GM's ownership, we have the ability to produce badges that stay pretty. I just paid $25 for a new rear badge, and I sent a long email to saab usa, they are sending me a voucher.
Anyway, since 1984, I must have replaced 2 dozen of these on my family's cars....including...
(2) 1984 900T's
1 85 900 T
1 86 900 t spg
1 87 900 t conv
1 87 900 s
2 88 900 t
1 90 900 t
1 94 900 s (ng)
1 96 900 s (ng)
1 96 900 se (ng)
and the car currently with new ones, front and rear
1 99 9-5
back before these emblems were used, we had lots of cars that didn't have these problems.
(2) 67 sonett II's (strokers)
1 69 sonett v4
1 71 sonett III
1 71 99
1 72 99
1 77 99 ems
1 79 900 gle
1 81 900 t
and a bunch of parts cars....96's, 99's, 900's...uggh, a lot of these cars.
my point is that saab's image is being hurt by these badges on relatively new cars....I think eveyone with a failed emblem should call saab and let them know!
