Remote(s) not "holding" the programming?

I've had a bit of a saga with the remotes on my '99 9-5 wagon. Bought the car used and the remote that came with it could not be programmed (dealer tried to no avail). I purchased one on ebay for $15 or so and had it programmed. Worked that day and the next but after car was parked for 4-5 days it no longer worked. I rec'd another remote (also purchased on ebay) in the meantime and took it in today with the other remote (that worked for a few days) to have them all programmed. After programming they worked at the dealer fine. Wife took a remote and I took one. Drove to one other stop and remote worked. Drove another 15 minutes back to work and it was no longer working. Arrived home and tested the wife's and it also is not working.
So I had originally suspected I bought a bad remote on ebay that was not "holding" the programming. But I can't imagine two separate remotes doing the same thing and now suspect something on the car.
Anyone have any recommendations? If it is something on the car, would it be under warranty - I still have a few thousand miles before it expires.
