Went to the local dealer her in Stockholm to see the Navigation system. A touch screen athat replaces the AS2 AS3 position. I was surprised to see that the system had so little Saabiness to it. I have recently compared the VW Phateon and new AUDI A8 though twice as expensive but more than twice as nice as the Saab system. It seams like Saab has taken the Kenwood system "off the Shelf" and put it in the car.
I "dry" drove the system in the showroom. has anyone driven it out on the road? I am quite sceptic to the sa called 3D mode and the ack of peronal settings such as deciding North up or nose up mode. Since my profession is in the field of Human Factors and have previously worked on the first generation VOLVO Dynaguide Navsystem 1.1 in 1996, I have som expertise in the field.
Or is ist that simple that this Navigation system is going to be a GM worldwide system so Saab simply has to get into the line.
I can recommend the Garmin GPS V. Its portable and has quite some features.
Keep on Saabin
