Perhaps I am naive, but I would hope that the writers would rate the cars based on the car's merit.
They tear the Viggen apart, and I think it deserves it. I did not agree with the recent ergonomics coment they made but otherwise I am usually in agreement. They seem to like the Aero and I agree with the complaints they have about it. I don't think they are out to get Saab. Saabs may not get the coverage that we feel they should, but hopefully that will change if the product gets better.
I would love it if I could love the 9-3 and the 9-5. Even my girl's father (01 9-3 convert owner) says he likes my 9-5 much better. (He never even drove the Aero.) He is not an engineer just an average guy who drove both cars. He could sense a difference. He went with the 9-3 because he wanted a convertible. My girl recently backed out of an incredible lease deal that we signed on a 9-3 convertible because after cooling down she realized she just didn't like it as much as the 9-5.
The Viggen is not a great choice for a road trip and I think that Motor Trend realizes that. For that reason they cleared the tally and started over. People are posting that they voted 20 times or more. That does not seem fair or honest to me. Perhaps someone should post the poll on the Bimmer board and see how the Viggen does? We can vote all we like for the Viggen, but I think the editors of motor trend can see through our little rouse.
The emperor has no clothes...
