I have tracked the actual mileage and speed on my car for every fill up for the past 6700 miles. My car is an '01 V6 sedan, and these were all in a cold winter in Michigan! I use 93 octane 90+% of the time and for the most part, do NOT use the Sport mode. Here are my stats:
Overall MPG = 18.5, overall MPH = 28.6
My office is 9 miles one way from my home, no freeway. So not only is most of my miles city, it's also short commutes.
I averaged 20 MPG when my avg speed between fill ups > 30, and averaged 18 MPG when my avg speed between fill ups was < 30.
