is the exact same transmission, and is exactly the same when it's in fully automatic mode. The only difference when it's in manual mode is that you have the option to shift yourself. It will not let you do stupid things like starting in 4th gear (in fact 4th is locked out until a certain speed) and I have driven an '03 Arc with Sentronic which would automatically drop from 5th to 4th or third if i stepped on it in manual mode, at about 50mph with 5th manually selected... it also upshifts automatically for you if you wind the engine to redline.
