Dean,
Seems you did notice some "run" problems like I had posted with these "precious metal" OE platinum plugs.
Most drivers should experience a 0.001" wideneing of the gap every 10,000 driven miles. So you are on par to that.
Plug color on NGK 6's copper or platinimu has always looke "perfect" per se to my eyes.
Analysis:
Platinum NGK (OE) plugs removed, inspected and gapped 2x in 19,000 miles vs buying NGK new copper plugs and installing them every 15,000 miles.
Seems economy of effort is on my side...
With regard to DI cassette screws: On the 9000 that I once had, these screws loosened up seemingly overnight.
In my 1999 SE HOT, and my 1998 CV SET and NOW in my 2002 9-3 SE and 9-5 AERO, I have NOT experiences the looseening or lost (as Jason writes) screws.
I torque the little DI screws to the 8 ft.lbs service spec SAAB has had around since the 9000T.
The point of this to all readers is that these OE plugs are not service free until the 30,000 mile service. You can remove and regap them, but some readers are not technically adept with platinum plugs, or go buy a new replacement copper set for 8 dollars and easily gap and install them to regain performance.
