I just had the crank sensor replaced on my car. Apparently it is responsible for the actual stalling out of the car (my car would suddenly stall while cruising on the hwy as well - pretty scary!). Unfortunately, the crank sensor sends no codes or error messages at all so it cannot be detected in a diagnostic. Since your car sent some error messages to your display and given the fact you were unable to restart your car immediately after your car stalled (with a crank sensor, you should be able to restart immediately), I would guess that your DI cassette was actually the culprit - they do become faulty from time to time. Its a shame it happened to you so early (12 months).
By the way, my car has 75K miles and I just had to replace the crank sensor but had to change my DI cassette 2 years ago.
Hope that helps.
