We went from Long Island to Tennasee and back in a week I have to agree with Ivan, what a great road car. In fact I wound up driving the return leg in one run, proving Ivan right. You can drive this car all day, and then some. 16 hours with stops, its the only car I have ever driven where I could have done that (the wife helped a little also).
I was cruising mostly between 75 and 85 mph, avaraged 62 mph with rest stops included and in one 452.8 mile run we used 15.8 gals of hi test = 28.6 mpg. (Its a 99 v6 se auto)
We went to the Great Smokey Mountains and the car performed flawlessly. If you are ever there you HAVE TO drive hwy 129 between the Foothills Parkway and Deals Gap (west end of the mountains). This road is so winding and twisty you gotta see it to believe it. Motorcycles all over the place. The only disadvantages I had was the weight of the 9_5 and my wife was in the passenger seat. Me and the car loved this road. I must admit, the lack of gaurd rails was a little disconcerting.
Anyway, great drive, great food, great sights, too many people.
