<<<Unlike the Acura, which you have to rev very high to get the horsepower and torque specs, the Saab LPT delivers its peak torque at 1800 rpm.>>>
I thought the LPT has a rev limiter at 1800 RPM :-). Do not underestimate the torque issue, I'm cruising at 70 and it's barely doing 2200rpm.
I'd say they are different things for different people. As much as I hate the future repair bills, the Saab is more 'expressive' for some of us engineer types. We have two of them, my neighbor the executive has two Acuras. While I probably know a bit more about what's under the hood, and appreciate it for what it is, he is pretty much get in, turn on, and drive. Horsepower alone does not make the vehicle.
The TL was in my short list, along with assorted Infinitis. The wife's short list was the 9-5 and the V70 :-)
