I have both a 2000 and 2001 Saab catalog. Comparing the engine performance curves for the LPT engine in both, it appears that the torque drops off less dramatically after 4000 RPM in the 2001. So, while peak torque remains the same, you get more torque above 4000 RPM (still less than peak) in the 2001, therefore you get more HP (torque * RPM * adjustment factor) at the RPM that HP maxes out.
You probably won't feel the difference in normal driving, but you may be able to hold a lower gear a little longer in the 2001. I doubt you'll see much difference in 0-60 times. Maybe a little higher top end.
