I know we all do this from time to time, but if you regularly run your car to almost empty that can't be great for your fuel pumps. It's just common sense, if you run your car that empty if you take a turn hard and the gas sloshes to one side in the tank you'll be pulling in air into the fuel lines. I pulled the Seinfeld episode on my car once just to see how far I could go and I was thankful I didn't run out before I called it quits. Now I try to fill up when I have 1/8 - 1/4 tank left.
