I used to have a NG 900 SET, then got a 328i ( there was some overlap ).
The saab was cheaper and had more amenities and utilities.
The BMW handles better--by a pretty big margin--and is more refined ( quiet, smooth ride, etc ).
The BMW was LOTS more reliable. I have 90K miles and only have had one real repair ( climate control head unit--warranty, otherwise $300 ). The saab was in the shop ALL THE TIME.
That being said, i am still seriously interested in getting a saab again if circumstances warrant. Lots of bang for the buck with saab, as we all know; an areo is a LOT cheaper than a comprably equipped 530, has more power, and gets better mileage. If the price was the same, though, it'd be a different matter. I'd just bump the warranty up to 7 years 100K miles in light of past experiences, if only so i could sleep better at night. :)
