DEFINATELY get it in while under warranty if you still have coverage. You want to at least document the problem in case you need to negotiate it later. Don't let them push it out, even if intermittant. If push comes to shove, you will be much better off that it was in, even if no problem found.
My early '99 had 5 different references in the dealer work orders about fixing shifting while it was under warranty. These were not resolved, b/c Saab didn't have the fix then. Now that it's out of warranty, and I'm not the original buyer, its my problem, even though it was well documented along the way.
If it's under warranty, I'd push to get the synchro upgrade and newer transmission fluid done on saab's nickel, b/c it w/be $$$ on yours. The newer synchro's do seem better in longevity, but I'd bet your wagon was built before the redesign.
Let us know what you find out. Good luck on it!
