Let's examine your thought process. Your 9^5, which has already taken the majority of its depreciation hit, is coming off warranty, so you're willing to dump it, pay the depreciation hit, and get into a small Mazda sedan--immediately taking yet another depreciation hit, all to have a warranty?

If the warranty is truly the issue (and we need to hear what's been happening with your car to evaluate whether it's this car in particular or your fear of Saab reliability in general that is motivating you) you can always buy an extended warranty for this car. Presumably, you've been maintaining well all this timeso know that it's well cared for. That gives it an advantage over a certified used Saab (e.g., lease return).

As to comparing the Mazda to the 9^5, you've named a big list gadgets and accessories, but little of substance as to what makes it appealing versus your Saab. Certainly it's a completely different class of car--a compact sedan. If it's a smaller car that you want, then you might also look at the 9^3SS, which after all has many of the goodies and the same warranty as the Mazda, along with the free service.

I guess I'm wonder whether your motivation might be that you're bored with the 9^5, and simply want something different. The money you'd lose in the transaction would pay for any Saab repair I could imagine several times over. There's no reason the car won't go another 150k miles. Personally, I've owned Saabs for as long as 13 years with no expensive failures.
