From my perspective the 40 horses do make a difference and I'm still sort of getting used to that. I like the new tires and the auto-dimming mirror. And while the new smaller display (radio) is a tad annoying, it's not a big issue for me.

Like you, we had some major issues with our 2001; a couple of which had me stranded in the middle of intersection, one of them a near collision with my infant in the back seat. If you had asked me at that point if I would lease another, I'd say, "no way". (Compounded by the fact that they couldn't provide me with a loaner car for the second time after being stranded). Two tows due to car malfunction under 30k miles almost pulled me away from Saab forever...

In the end, I went for performance and safety (despite the incidents)-- and basically, I just love this car. Enjoy!
