I'm curious why you say that Costco gas has no additives, etc. Hard to find much information in a google search, but found only a few newspaper articles saying that -- at least in california -- there's a baseline of additives that all gases must have for emissions purposes.
I've certainly known people to have problems with "cheap" gas -- a friend who would only fill up his car at the Navy Exchange got a rusted out gas tank in less than five years!
But Costco claims to have some unspecified set of additives and fuel system cleaners ,etc. Do you know something more specific? I certainly agree that each manufacturer has it's own mix (and I, like many, have good results w/ chevron), but wonder what you might know specifically about costco's gas...
