First off, thank you all for your thoughts/opinions/advice. After careful consideration I think I made the smart decision, at least for my situation anyway.
For a grand total of $2,150, I now have a bumper to bumper w/exclusions extended warranty for the next 4 years (from todays date) or 50,000 miles (for a total of 100,000) with no deductable and no claim limit. It covers most components/systems on the car. One major it doesn't cover is all exhaust components, but SAAB has that covered through 80,000 miles. Also the SRS system isn't covered, but is by SAAB until the car is 6 years old or unlimited mileage. I contacted several independent mechanics and all said this would be a worthwhile investment and a great price at that. I was luckey as this warranty should have cost me $2,850, the dealer took out "his cost" since I've been in alot lately for warranty work and the vehicle was purchased there. My advice: always try to barter with them.
The company is called C.A.R.S., underwritten by Allstate; 888-565-2580. The warranty is transferable to the next owner should I sell, and is refundable on a pro-rated mileage basis should it be totalled or whatever. I have 60 days to cancel for full refund.
I'm totally happy (thusfar) and thought I'd pass it along...
