jsut did mine.. order the pads and rotors from eEuroparts.. local places probably wont stock them, and if they do, they still wont fit (experience).. the 99's changed half way through the year... mine were the latter version (older ones are very small square pads).
rears are just like the fronts... remove wheel.
the rear calipers dont swing up real easy so its best to remove the enite caliper mount as well.... so loosen the 18mm(?) bolts on the back, of the caliper.. then remove the black caps coveriing the hex bolts.
a 7mm allen wrench will be needed to pull those hex bolts.. after ur done pullin those, remove the 18mm bolts and pull the entire caliper assembly off the rotor (turn the car to "on" to remove brake pressure first).
part of the caliper (thepart with the 18mm bolt) can be removed and put on the floor.. the other part, with the brake line attached should be suspended with wire from a suspension component to keep the line from stretching.
the outer pads slide right off the assembly, the inner pads need to be pulled out since they have a 1.5" inch clip that goes into the piston chamber.
the rotor is held on by one torx screw, i believe a t20 size. remove that screw, and make sure the emergency brake lever is all the way down.
whack the rotors with a mallet of your choice until they break loose and then pull them off.
clean your new rotors with a degreaser, then slide them on the hub, lining up the holes and making sure to get the torx screw back on. then put the 18mm bolt section of the caliper back on, tighten the bolts. open ur hood, pop open the brake fluid resevoir to let it vent for the next part.
takea C -clamp and press the cylinder back into the piston in the suspended part of the caliper allll the way in.. then lube the back of the new pads with copper grease, and insert the pads , make sure the friction sides are FACING each other. slide that back onto the caliper assembly and tighten the 7mm hex bolts , put the black caps back on, put wheel back on.
close brake fluid resevoir lid, shut hood, lower car. prime the brakes 15-20 times by presssing hard on them, then start car and go to an EMPTY place.. your brakes will feel like they arent there at all, drive up to 60mph, and SLAM on the brakes until u get to 5mph, not 0. go back to 60, repeat 4-5 times, you'll notice the stopping gets better and better each time.
done.
GoodLuck.
