My laser red 2001 9-5 will be turned in next month: It's been a joy, with no problems, and just yesterday a gal walking her dog by my house while the car sat in the drive exclaimed it was about the most gorgeous car she's ever seen. (She assumed in was German, BTW). Anyway, I intended to get an Aero, and my dealer has located a polar white one (which is what I want, to match my arctic white '93 900S), fully equipped, with all discounts (including GM employee) running $487/mo, 15K/yr, 3-yr... But, he just told me he would offer me a polar white Arc, 15K/yr but a 24-month lease for less than I'm paying now for my 9-5, $356/mo. A two-year lease for less than I pay now!? I need advice: I've driven both, and the Arc seems awfully close in performance (for my purposes) to the Aero, especially the lack of turbo lag I experience with the present 9-5, which is about never out of sport mode), and the Aero in question is fully loaded with some things I either don't need or want (xenons, touring pkg, etc), but, as you probably have guessed, I'd really like an Aero. However, a good car for less than I pay now, for only two years. Can anyone out there help me make this decision (which I guess must be made soon, since I got the VRS from SFSC today). Would the Aero be worth it (counting the intangibles), or is an Arc at this price too good a deal, at a two year lease, to pass up? If I opt for the Arc, would gap insurance be a good idea?
