My CE light has been turning on and off since I bought my 2000 9 5 Wagon (4 cylinder) used in September 2003. My mechanic was not able to pin down the problem, so I finally went ahead and put in a new DI since I didn't want to get stuck--we drive long distances often--and put the old in the back as a spare. The light stayed off for one trip--220 miles--and then came back on and has been on since. I am bringing the car to a dealer to check the codes, since now that it is not the DI, I have no idea what the problem may be. Feeling a bit frustrated, although I love driving the car!
