That's a common mistake to assume that since the car is FWD, two new tires should go on the front. Motor Trend had an article on this a few months back where they went to Michelin's (or TireRack's...can't remember) test track. They tested the exact same cars but with new tires on front vs. on the rear. The car that had the old tires on the rear would slide out of control in emergency lane change manuevers.
Believe it or not, the rear tires are more important b/c of their role in stability. Hope this helps. You might be able to dig up that article on Motor Trends website (it's worth reading).
