Just come back from holiday in Italy. Drive from Birmingham UK, across to Calais, Stop at Reims -France, Zurich-Switzerland and on to Stresa in Italy. Car with 2 people and boot full of luggage.
Out - slow to Dover, 60-70mph . Panic! not getting full boost. Goes into orange and thats it! Open bonnet at Dover fiddle around notice, slight click when I waggle the electrical connector above the turbo. Off boat and
PHEW! boost back - must have nudged connector when checking oil (!?). French motorways are toll roads but empty. Limit 130kph but heard that +30kph before big fines. Cruise at 95mph/150kph, short bursts higher. Next day great weather very clear with 500km to go so lets go for it. Averaged (SID average) 97mph/155kph between one set of toll points.
German Autobahn between Basel and Strasbourg on return but too much traffic! France - fantastic again. Did not see a single French police car.
Its a great cruiser and pretty quiet overall (but my mirror is still taped over - see earlier posts). Coolknight - Those pressures were fine when loaded but with no luggage and just me I had very exciting moment on an Italian bend at 160kph.
