I bought a base 9-5 wagon in Vermont on June 30, 2001, and got NO incentive other than a $1,000 loyalty discount. The dealer later informed me that the deal would have been no better had I waited a few days for July.

Apparently, SAAB is targeting different States and different demographics with different incentives. I cannot figure out the rhyme or the reason, but I can say I am bitter about it. SAAB has to know that in this age of the internet people will learn the selected few are being especially well treated while others are being treated very shabbily.

I would be interested to know in what State you reside and in what State the dealer was located? Did you previously own a SAAB or did you own a car of a competitor? Do you know of any other factor that may have entitled you to the incentive you received? Do you know if the incentive you received would have applied to a base 9-5 as well?
