HELP - 'Click' from nearside wheel when braking...

My Aero (UK spec, right hand drive model) has developed a loud 'click' from the front passenger side wheel when I brake. Just rolling the car gently forwards and backwards a couple of feet, and braking hard each time to bring it to a firm halt causes a significant 'click' from the front nearside wheel just as full brake pressure is applied. It's more of a 'click' than a 'clunk' but it can also be felt through the steering wheel.
I just got back from the dealer who kindly agreed to see me this afternoon without appointment and carried out some limited investigation. They torqued up the caliper mounts, and also took the hub assembly off the end of the driveshaft to lublicate the splines on the shaft in case they had become dry. Sadly that didn't cure it.
Dealer consensus is that, at worst, it might still be either the driveshaft or perhaps a CV; at best, possibly the caliper or one of the caliper springs clicking in it's mounting. Dealer ran out of time today so it's booked in for an appointment in a couple of weeks.
Meanwhile, has anybody experienced this, or can anybody suggest any possible causes other those mentioned above? Thanks in advance.
